Thai Basement

Middle cale, St John Street, Ashbourne DE6 1GP, UK – 01335 300305

excellent food in nice surroundings. Even got my 5 year old to dip his kids food into sweet chili sauce and nick bits of our lovely set menu. Bit of a problem ordering the wine and the bill could have been more detailed otherwise 5 stars.

Excellent food. Ordered spring roll started and it was very large so would advise sharing starters. Well priced and tasty. A little cramped tho

Anayas Premier Indian Dining

25 Dig St, Ashbourne DE6 1GF, UK – 01335 300021

We arrived in Ashbourne on Friday night at 9pm and just wanted an easy meal, Anayas was the first place we came across and we are so glad we did. Service was wonderful, attentive waiters but not over the top and the food was exceptional. We are relocating to Ashbourne and are really happy that we have found ourselves a great Indian Restaurant. We will certainly be back again.

Food was lovely the restaurant is one of the best I've been in for a nice night out, a bit pricy on drinks though.

Red Chilli of Ashbourne

1-5 Dig St, Ashbourne DE6 1GF, UK – 01335 343232

Went there last night as a good friend recommended it to us. We were delighted with both the food and the fabulous service and attentive staff. Highly recommend . Many thanks

Nice food when it eventually came. Don’t go on a hot day. Place was like a sauna.

Subway

3-5 Dig St, Ashbourne DE6 1GF, UK – 01335 346513

Good for quick bite

Lots of cafes in Ashbourne are either too busy or give you a funny look if you walk in with kids. While this subway is feeding a mega corporate (ok, it's most likely owned by a local company as a franchise) service is good and the meals are great value. This one also gives good views of the main high street crossing.

Great atmosphere, fantastic bar staff, thank you to the gentleman that managed to get us a taxi back to our site.

Good but limited menu (due to day before being a bank holiday?)

Osmaston Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants

Lamplight Restaurant Ltd

4 Victoria Square, Ashbourne DE6 1GG, UK – 01335 342279

Five stars deserves five suitable adjectives: intelligent, creative, exquisite, outstanding and delicious. As an absolute priority and indeed necessity, a warm and humble thanks must be given to the outstanding service given by Harvey. The starters; refined and simple, precise and tasty. A perfect prelude to what was to come. The mains. Upon decisive recommendation by Harvey, the lamb proved to be a sterling choice, succulent and lean. Credit here, must be paid to the chef for phenomenal innovation to serve a Canon of lamb with creamy risotto. As for the pork belly, no finer dish could have been presented. Overall, the lamplight is a gem of fine dining in the arsenal of the Ashbourne dining scene.

Maybe even a 5 star. Really nice food, nice place. We'll go again.

Jack Rabbits Ashbourne

10, Green Man Hotel, St John St, Ashbourne DE6 1GH, UK – 01335 342285

Took a wrong turn and stumbled on this absolute hidden gem. Tucked in behind the main road it is a beautiful building reminiscent of a Canadian Rockie’s cafe. Uber modern with a very cool vibe and lovely staff. Every town should have a Jack Rabbits. Proper coffee too!

Great service...friendly front of house. Food is tasty but a few more chicken wings instead of bacon bread would have worked better. Salads tasty. Coffee great too.

The Flower Café

5 Market Place, Ashbourne DE6 1EU, UK – 01335 344090

Nice food, eat here quite often. A nice meeting place for a catch up with friends, no 5th star as it has become quite grubby, more attention to cleanliness needed. IMO only 🙄

Very nice fresh sandwiches. There is a wide range of foods that you can choose from the menu. Friendly and family atmosphere.

Stepping Stones Derby

Derbtshire, Ashbourne DE6 1AY, UK – 01335 300800

Really good food. The menu is vast and the service is very quick. Great place for either a quick drink or a full meal. They have a kids play area and also outside seating. Place in lovely grounds.

What an absolutely beautiful part of Derbyshire. There's a small ice cream kiosk and little shop, a few bridges over the river Dove with its slow flowing water, perfect to dangle your feet in on a hot summers day. Take care though it's freezing cold! The stepping stones are still a fab feature, unspoilt and reliant on good manners to take turns crossing back and forth. Cascading but gentle waterfalls follow the river downstream., There are lots of picnic spots to sling your blanket down and relax. A few picnic style wooden table and chairs dotted about and seating here and there in the form of benches. Parking at the entrance is reasonable.... enjoy

The Smiths Tavern

36 St John St, Ashbourne DE6 1GH, UK – 01335 300809

Always been a fantastic pub, Ashbourne's finest for the last 30 years to my knowledge. The staff were so helpful and friendly again last night

Fab local pub. Friendly. Good choice of ales.we love it

The Shoulder Of Mutton

Moor Ln, Osmaston, Ashbourne DE6 1LW, UK – 01335 342371

Excellent beer garden in wonderful village location. Drinks were a little slow but all in all a very pleasant stop and would recommend to anyone looking for a rural stop or walk. Did not try the food this occasion

Friendly pub in a very picturesque village on the Osmaston Park Estate. Good reasonable menu and outside eating area. For those using public transport this pub and village just 15 minutes walk from main Derby to Ashbourne Road. Utterly stunning area sitting in a time warp. Escape to Osmaston Park Estate when the 21st century is too busy and noisy. You will not be disappointed.
